Insufficient raw material consumption

Hi experts,

Need your help on a query: I have created a material and maintained its Base Unit in Square inches. Now the BOM of this material contains raw material which have units as Lbs(weight unit) with a qty. of 8.08 Lbs. I wanted that the delivery after GR posting of work order for this part be as 576 sq. inches, so i maintained the Base Quantity in BOM as 576 sq inches.

Now per the manufacturing process always 9 of this part will be manufactured at one go.So, planning always has to release work order of 5184 sq inches (576 sq inches x 9=5184 sq inches).

Now while doing GR posting for the qty. of 5184 sq inch, the system first finds the Requirement per unit (8.08 Lbs divided by 576 sq inch = 0.014027777 Lbs of material per square inch of the part) and then multiplies this quantity with 5184.

The problem lies here, the system takes only 3 digits after decimal. So the raw material qty. consumed is (5184 x 0.014) and neglects the rest of the digits after decimal and hence the raw material qty. It takes (5184 x 0.014 = ) though ideally it should take (8.08 Lbs x 9=72.72 Lbs) because the 5184 is equal to  (576 sq inch (base qty.) x 9 ).

If there is another way to solve this problem, please suggest.

Thanks
